All Customs Houses and Stations to Remain Open Daily Except on Eid Day

To ensure uninterrupted trade activities ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has decided to keep all customs houses and customs stations across the country open every day except on Eid day.

According to NBR sources, import and export operations will continue on a limited scale during government and weekly holidays from May 25 to May 31. An official order in this regard was issued on Sunday and has already been communicated to all Customs Commissioners nationwide.

The decision aims to maintain the continuity of trade and minimize disruptions during the holiday period. Relevant stakeholders—including the Governor of Bangladesh Bank, FBCCI, foreign chambers, BGMEA, BKMEA, Freight Forwarders Association, and Shipping Agents Association—have been formally notified.

A similar initiative was implemented during the last Eid-ul-Fitr, although trade volume remained relatively low during the holidays.

Every year, such measures are taken to keep essential import-export activities running during extended holiday periods. The latest move is expected to support the smooth flow of trade and reduce congestion in the supply chain during the festive season.
